Proposal

The format of show will be studio based it could have an audience but this could be an issue considering how small the area we are allowed to use to film in whereas if we was given a larger space we could perhaps have a studio audience. The scenario of the programme it could be a chat show where a panel of people go on to discuss a chosen topic such as movies, music, clothing etc. it could have around 3-4 people on the show to make it more interesting were as if it was just one person talking which could become unexciting as well as the show could mainly be unscripted as long as the panel know what they’re going to be talking about so they don’t go on without having a   clue what they’re talking about but it could have some scripted elements such as the show intro an outro.

The show could include clips/images in the programme as well as music to make the programme more interesting for the viewer, these would have to be found during preproduction stages to allow them to be allocated suitable slots during the show otherwise if you wait till it’s being filmed to pick somewhere to insert them in it might look unprofessional an not correct. The visual style for this particular show could be similar to the graham Norton show for example of how it’s laid out too make it look not too formal to try have an informal look.

The equipment needed would be three cameras as well as lighting either the overhead lighting or the Arri lights around 2-3 of them would be needed to make sure everything is correctly lighted an looks good on camera the only thing with working with these lights if you’re in front of them it can become very hot which may make the talent feel uncomfortable. Also a teleprompter may be needed for some sections of the show where it will be scripted this will also make it easier for the talent because this way they haven’t got too remember too much because this could lead to them forgetting.

Production roles which will be needed are:

·         1 x Director

·         3 x Camera Operators

·         1 x Floor Manager

·         1 x Sound mixer

·         1 x Vision mixer

·         1 x Teleprompter

Every crew member will need to be able to communicate and work with each other so the outcomes a successful also they will have to be able to follow directions from the director otherwise if some people don’t the production will fall apart if a certain roles don’t work together.

Pre-Production

The class formed two groups after we voted for the best idea after we pitched our ideas, Khillan’s idea got voted for his idea is based around a game show other members had ideas such as talk/chat shows. But every idea which was pitched could’ve been produced because they was all realistic. After we got put into our groups we then split all the preproduction paperwork along with the production roles. My preproduction responsibilities consist of equipment checklist along with assisting Danilo with our ident for our programme. Plus my production role is camera operator for the show. I also created my own ident which a included a previous logo we had till team members made a new logo.

News Programme workshop

TV Studio blog

Today we went into the studio for an introduction workshop, we did a number of run-through of a news programme so we could get use to the equipment. I tried out different roles such as on the camera which was interesting to use because it wasn't that complicated as well as I’m the gallery on the sound mixing desk which controls the levels of the talents mics an clips being played. I thought both roles was good to try out.
